The thesis
Invantive Producer is used for the development of software at Invantive. Invantive Producer is an internal development tool used to generate Oracle databases. The database is generated on the basis of data that have been committed in the Invantive Producer repository. Invantive Producer generates standard databases with the following features:
- OLTP - transactional system;
- OLAP - analysis system;
- Authorization and data security;
- History and time travel functionality;
- System can be adapted at customer's sites;
- Upgrade functionality for minimal downtime and automatic conversion/migration.
The Invantive Producer repository now has no ability for version control. This means that only one version of a software package can be generated. Usually no problem, but version control is needed when customers work with different versions of a package. It is then possible to make adjustments to one or more intermediate versions, making it not necessary at a customer's site to always install the latest version. Invantive Producer is extended with version control to meet these requirements.
The thesis consists of the following components:
- Introduction development with Invantive Producer;
- Capturing functional requirements and needs;
- Drafting technical analysis and design;
- Realization (construction) of changes in Invantive Producer.

Prerequisite knowledge
The following knowledge is required for the assignment to come to a successful conclusion:
- Insight in administrative systems (e.g. the course "Administration Organization").
- Insight in administrative processes (e.g. the course "Business Processes").
- Experience in SQL programming (e.g. the course "SQL").
- Experience with programming through methodical specification.
- Programming in one of the following: Java / .net / PL/SQL.
- Sense of IT architecture.
